Accountability

New year, new me. A phrase we see posted all across social media platforms when the clock ticks midnight and another page is turned. Something aspirational, maybe a little cheesy, but always catchy. What is it about a new year that makes us want to create shifts in our lives? Is it the feeling of newness, or of crafting a persona to replicate that which we have always dreamed of? Or perhaps we feel similar to a reptile shedding its skin. Simply waiting for a moment to jumpstart our dreams, our goals, our "new lives".

Well, call me basic, but I'm jumping into this mentality. Preparing for a shift. Pushing myself to reach new goals. Holding myself accountable. It may not be groundbreaking, but does it really need to be?

Starting today, this very moment, I plan to create and post on a weekly basis to this platform. (It feels as though I'm replicating scenes from "Julie and Julia", reliving a childhood memory and awakening).

Each week I will dive into the experience that goes along with a piece of my work. I may dive into the exact moment that the shot was captured, what led me to being in that place at that specific time, the process behind my thoughts, or other mysterious revelations. Whether these are seen by fifteen hundred people or zero, my persistence will not waver. (Why did that feel like a line to speak to the front line of an army going to war in medieval times...?)

Here, you will get a fun, slightly chaotic, but always authentic, glimpse into my life, my work, and I suppose, my brain. To all my old English teachers in the world, I do greatly apologize. My grammar may not be perfect, and my thoughts at times may be tangential, but as they say--we are here for a good time, not a long time.

Alas, I bid you adieu. Until next week...
